What is never behind a paywall
The checkout takeover, the order write-back into Shopify, and reconciliation are on every plan including Free. The first is how you get paid; the other two are how you prove you can fulfil what you sold. Charging extra for any of them would make the product untrustworthy. Plans differ on volume, seats, stores, history and convenience features.
When a cheaper option is right
If your processor has never flagged you, you do not need order bumps or subscriptions, and payout timing does not affect your ad budget — your platform’s native checkout is free and perfectly good. We would rather say so here than have you find out in month three.

Does the free plan really take live payments?
Yes. Free processes real money up to $2,000 a month at 0.9% per order, with the checkout takeover, the Shopify order write-back, subscriptions and reconciliation all included. It is capped by volume, not crippled by capability — because a checkout you cannot test with real money is one you cannot trust.
Am I charged per store?
No. Plans are per workspace. Growth includes three stores and Scale is unlimited, at the same monthly price. A three-store merchant on Growth pays $79, not $237.
Are subscriptions an extra charge?
No. Subscribe & Save, free trials, the customer portal and dunning are included on every plan, including Free, which allows 25 active subscriptions. Higher plans lift the count, not the capability.
How is the per-order fee collected?
Automatically, on your stored payment method, at the end of each month. There is no invoice link to remember, no seven-day term and no rolling balance to track.
Who processes the cards?
Whop, through your own connected Whop account. Chekvo is checkout software built on it — we never hold your customers' funds, never change your payout destination, and never sit between you and your money.
